One Piece Card Game Tournament Rules (Bandai)
The basics of the Bandai Organized Play One Piece Card Game Tournament Rules Manual: deck building, formats, match structure, time limits, sleeves, conduct and penalties.
Official One Piece Card Game events follow the Bandai Organized Play One Piece Card Game Tournament Rules Manual. If you are heading to your first event, this page covers the essentials from the version last updated October 17, 2025.
Deck rules
Every deck has three parts:
- Leader card: 1 card
- Deck: a total of 50 cards, made up of Character cards, Event cards and Stage cards
- DON!! deck: a total of 10 DON!! cards
A deck can contain no more than 4 cards with the same card number. Only appropriate cards created by Bandai Co., Ltd., or those recognized by Bandai Co., Ltd., may be used at events.
Formats
- Constructed: players bring a tournament-legal deck.
- Sealed: players receive event product at the players’ meeting and build a legal deck using only that product.
- Draft: players receive booster packs, draft in pods, and build a deck from the cards they drafted.
Match structure and time
At Professional-level events, qualifying rounds are best-of-one and the top cut is best-of-three.
- Standard (qualifying) rounds: best-of-one, 30-minute match time
- Online Standard rounds: best-of-one, 35-minute match time
- Top cut finals: best-of-three, 60-minute match time
- Championship top 2: best-of-three, no time limit
When time runs out: both players should note who the active player is when time is called. If a game is in progress, the active player takes a turn called turn 0, followed by three more turns. If there is still no winner, the player with the most Life cards wins, then the player with more cards left in their deck, with further tiebreakers listed in the manual. In Swiss rounds a draw can be declared if there is still no clear winner. Draws are not permitted in single-elimination rounds, including top cut finals.
Sleeves and conduct
- All sleeves in the Main Deck must be opaque and identical in color, wear and design.
- Only one card may go in each sleeve, and no other cards or printed materials may be placed inside sleeves.
- Rude language, disruptive or disrespectful behavior, and inappropriate clothing or supplies are not tolerated.
- Wagering or gambling on tournament results by anyone is strictly prohibited.
- Unsportsmanlike conduct includes taunts and inappropriate behavior, as well as threatening, aggressive or discriminatory actions.
Penalties
The manual lists penalties from lowest to highest severity, and Head Judges cannot issue any penalty other than these:
- Caution
- Warning
- Game Loss
- Match Loss
- Disqualification
- Suspension
